Pets annoy neighbours

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Many residents of RBI Colony in Anandanagar have a peculiar problem related to dogs from their own neighbours.

More than stray dogs, owners who encourage their dogs to defecate in public places have become a nuisance for these residents.

In a complaint to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), M.S. Srihari, Gowri Krishnan and many residents of the colony said that many owners, while walking their dog, encourage them to defecate in any odd place such as roads, pavements and in front of gates of others’ houses. Residents demanded that the BBMP take action against owners as it was their duty to ensure their pets did not soil the areas commonly used by children and others.

The residents said they could only watch helplessly as pet dog owners argued with them saying they “can use public places including roads as they are tax payers and citizens of the country.”
