A labourer, Bhikshapathi, 27, was stabbed to death allegedly by a watchman, Prasad Reddy, after an argument near Janapriya Bungalows in Bollarum on Wednesday.

“It is not yet known what happened earlier but they were seen fighting on the road near Gautami School around 6 p.m.,” the Bollarum police said. Alerted by locals, police rushed to the spot and caught the fleeing accused.

Housewife robbed

An unidentified person robbed Dania Siddiqui, housewife, of gold jewellery weighing 150 grams and Rs. 10,000 at knifepoint when she was alone in her house at Kanchanbagh on Wednesday night. The offender entered the house around 7.30 p.m and threatened her, collected the jewellery and cash,and fled. Police said he entered the house by scaling the compound wall.
