Chennai: Shijit Chandran’s unbeaten 128 (199b, 21x4, 1x6) enabled Combined Districts draw with City eleven in the Nanal Srinivasan under-22 match at the SRMC ground here on Wednesday. City, however, gained a first innings lead of 221 runs.

The return match will be played in Puducherry on August 18, 19 and 20.

The scores: Combined Districts 149 & 242 for four in 80 overs (E. Ashwin 41, B. Shijit Chandran 128 not out) drew with City XI 370 for nine decl.
