CHENNAI: As part of the special summary revision of electoral rolls, a special campaign will be held on August 17 in all school buildings, where polling is held during elections. According to a press release from the Chief Electoral Officer, Tamil Nadu, electors can go to schools where they normally vote and check their names in the roll. In case of shift of residence within the constituency, they can apply in Form 8A. In case of shift outside the constituency, a person has to apply in Form 6 as well as for inclusion afresh. Passport size photos have to be given with Forms 6 and 001A to enable the production and issue of elector’s photo identity card after publication of roll. After filling up the form, it can be submitted at the same place and acknowledgement obtained. The previous address, the elector’s photo identity card number details and the declaration in column IV of Form 6 must be filled up in the form. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
