President hosts “At Home” at Rashtrapati Bhavan

NEW DELHI: President Pratibha Patil hosted the customary “At Home” reception on the lawns of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on the occasion of Independence Day.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Vice-President M. Hamid Ansari, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, the former Prime Minister I.K. Gujral, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, several Union Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, MPs, senior bureaucrats and eminent persons from other fields attended the reception. Ms. Patil greeted the invitees. A separate enclosure was provided for Supreme Court judges, diplomats and other high-ranking dignitaries.
