Arrested for killing brother

Financial dispute was said to be the reason

CHENNAI: One person was taken into custody for allegedly murdering his younger brother at Pattinatharkuppam in Tiruvottiyur early on Friday.

Police said D. Tamilarasan alias Kuttiappan (22) was found dead with bleeding injuries in front of his house around 3 a.m.

Passers-by alerted police who conducted preliminary investigations. Sniffer dog went around the murder scene and ran to a house owned by the victim’s brother D. Desingh (27).

Police interrogated Desingh who confessed to having killed his brother in an argument.

He said the duo quarrelled over a financial settlement on Thursday night that led to the murder.

The Tiruvottriyur police arrested the accused who was remanded to judicial custody.
