Altercation over procession

VILLUPURAM: Three persons were injured in an altercation between two groups over a car procession at Velanthangal within the Nallanpillaipetral police station limits on Friday. They were admitted to Ginjee Government Hospital.

The police said it was customary for two sections of people to draw the car in their respective areas with the help of their own members. After traversing through the dwelling place of one group on Thursday night, the car, along with the generator that powered the illumination, was handed over to the other group. But, when it returned , the generator did not function properly, for which the second group was held responsible.
