Youth succumbs to injuries sustained in accident

TAMBARAM: A 26-year-old youth died on Friday morning, a week after he was seriously injured in a road accident on the Velachery Main Road in East Tambaram.

A native of Theni district, L.Suresh Kumar was employed in a private insurance company. Around 11 p.m. on Saturday last, he was walking along the side of Velachery Main Road when a motorcyclist hit him.

Suresh Kumar was rushed to Tambaram Taluk Government Hospital (Chromepet GH) and from there referred to the Government General Hospital in Chennai, where he succumbed to injuries on Friday.

His body was handed over relatives after postmortem.
