Two more prisoners released

Two more prisoners of Central Jail here were released on Saturday following the special remission granted by the Government to the non-life convicts to mark the 150 years of First War of Independence.

Thirteen prisoners of Central Jail here were eligible for remission and 10 of them were released on Friday. Three others were not released due to technical reasons.

Among them V. Satyanarayana of old Diary Farm area was released on Saturday after he paid the fine of Rs. 2,000, which was part of his sentence and Meesala Appala Naidu of Bondapalli in Vizianagaram district, who was on parole, was set free after he reported back to the jail. V. Demudu of S. Kota in Vizianagaram district, who was sentenced in an Excise case, was not released as he had not paid the fine.
