Stalin satisfied with drainage work

PUDUKOTTAI: State Minister for Local Administration and Rural Development M. K. Stalin inspected the work on underground drainage project being executed at Kamban Nagar here on Sunday.

He inspected the pipes buried in the area and ascertained the quality of work being executed at an outlay of Rs. 32.16 crore by the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board.

Completion in 2010

Later, Mr. Stalin said that the work was being executed to his utmost satisfaction. Ms. Udaiyppan said that the work would be completed by September 2010.

Grant of Rs. 9.65 crore

Being executed under the Tamil Nadu Urban Development Project - III, it would include a grant of Rs. 9.65 crore and a loan component of Rs. 12.05 crore .

The balance Rs.10.46 core would be mobilised from the public .

Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests S. Regupathy, Collector Reeta Harish Thakkar, Chairperson of Pudukottai Municipality Ramathilagam Udaiyappan, Managing Director of TWAD Board Swaran Singh, Chief Engineer, TWAD Board, Harihara Subramanian and Superintending Engineer R. Neelvan were present.
