NEW DELHI: The Delhi Committee of the Indian Federation of Trade Unions has called upon the working class to observe a strike in the Capital on Wednesday against inflation and other issues concerning the common man. It has asked the working class to demand that labour laws be implemented and the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal be scrapped. Describing the UPA government’s policies as anti-poor and anti-workers, IFTU said: “In Delhi, especially among private industrial working class, there is violation of statutory labour laws such as minimum wages, PF and bonus. Permanent jobs are also being increasingly being contractualised.” © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
