Four huts gutted

PUDUKOTTAI: Four huts were gutted in a fire at Indira Nagar near Ponnamaravathi on Saturday.

Paddy, rice, other commodities and furniture were damaged and the loss has been estimated to be Rs. 3 lakh.

Fire fighting units from Ponnamaravathi rushed to the spot and put out the fire.

“Make ABL compulsory”

Pudukottai District Consumers’ Association has urged the State Government to make activity-based learning compulsory in all aided and private schools.

Explaining the efficacy of the ABL programme, a resolution adopted at its meeting held here recently said the academic performance of students improved through this new technique.

Another resolution urged the Agricultural Universities in the country to promote bio-farming technology by starting exclusive department for bio-technology.
