Collector inspects electoral roll work

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Collector V. Chandrasekaran inspected the electoral roll works under way in Virudhunagar on Sunday.

According to a press release, to facilitate the public to submit their forms for addition/deletion and alteration of their names and addresses in the voter list, all the 1,411 designated locations across the district were opened.

Special drive

The special drive was to ensure that no eligible voters’ name was missing in the list.

The officials also checked the filled-in applications at random by conducting door-to-door verification at Rajapalayam, Srivilliputtur, Sivakasi, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Aruppukottai and Tiruchuzhi.

Many teachers were also involved in the electoral work.

The Collector visited a few of the designated locations, including Kooraikundu and Pattampudur, in the district and crosschecked some of the filled-in forms with that of the voter list, the press release said.
