NEW DELHI: The Tamil Nadu State Committee of the Communist Party of India (CPI) will discuss the “emerging political situation” in the State at its four-day meeting between Aug.22 to 25 to be held in Hosur. CPI general secretary A.B. Bardhan, deputy general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, national secretary D. Raja and State secretary D. Pandian would be among the leaders who would participate in the deliberations. There would also be a public meeting and rally against the nuclear deal and the neo-economic policies of the UPA government. The committee meeting assumes significance as both the AIADMK and the DMK have shown interest to keep the Left parties in their alliance. Mr. D. Raja, who gave details about the meeting to The Hindu said the situation in the State right now was fluid and the CPI and CPI (M) would jointly decide on issues concerning the State. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
