Letters to the Editor
We may forget C.V. Sundaram. But we cannot forget the service he rendered in the field of nuclear energy. A scholar and intellectual, he was dedicated to science and research. He did not spare a thought to settling down in life, which is why he remained a bachelor. A lover of classical music and a fine conversationalist, his mind would wander quickly to science and research. As Director of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research at Kalpakkam, he inculcated a spirit of independent thinking in the minds of our young, bright scientists. Befittingly, he chose the Independence Day to depart. L. Swaminathan, Chennai © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
