Revamped post offices launched

NEW DELHI: The Department of Posts has launched a series of fully upgraded and completely new-look post offices in rural areas under its ‘Project Arrow.’ The project has been launched across India to revitalise the post office network and enable it to play a larger role in the socio-economic transformation of the country.

These new age post offices in rural areas will be a single-window facility for banking, money remittance, transmission and delivery of information. The department has identified 50 post offices in Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and some northern east States, covering 10 postal circles. By the end of this year, 500 post offices will get operational in the country. These are being given a thorough make over both in terms of physical appearance and feel and upgrading service delivery.
