At the two week Vancouver International Film Festival there were more than 300 entries from 28 countries. One hundred films were selected for public viewing. The movie “Pather Panchali” produced and directed in India, was a black-and-white study of family relations in India, and it earned top award among feature films. Russia’s version of the Cervantes classic, Don Quixote, and the French entry, “Porte Des Lilas’, were given special mentions.
