Kollam SN Trust HSS retains title

KOTTAYAM: SN Trust HSS (Kollam) retained the girls’ title in the fifth Lourdaean Trophy all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament at the Lourdean Public School floodlit court here on Monday.

In the final, SN Trust defeated Municipal GVHSS (Thallassery) 53-45 after leading 31-19 at the half-time. SN Trust HSS’ win was fashioned by internationals Stephy Nixon (23) and R.K. Smruthy (13).

The results: Boys (semifinal): St. Thomas HSS (Kozhencherry) 54 (Richard Baby 17, Arun Alexander 14, Jomon Jose 12) bt G.V. Raja Sports School (Thiruvananthapuram) 42 (M.R. Shinil Raj 23, M. Nicewin 10).

Girls (final): SN Trust HSS (Kollam) 53 (Stephy Nixon 23, R.K. Smruthy 13, Kenny Susan Lalu 12) bt Municipal GVHSS (Thalassery) 45 (Soniya Joy 12, P.R. Surya 11, Josna Jose 11, P.S. Neenumol 11)
