NEW DELHI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday announced that a Central team would soon visit the State to assess the damages (approximately Rs.887 crore as per the State government’s estimate) caused to the crop and other properties due to recent flash floods and heavy rain in the State. Dr. Reddy, who met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi separately, said both of them would be visiting State. While Mr. Manmohan Singh would tour Kadapa and Kurnool districts by the end of this month or September first week, Ms. Gandhi would visit Tirupati next month to participate in a mahila convention. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
