ANHAD’s charge

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: ANHAD (Act Now for Harmony and Democracy) has alleged that innocent Muslims were being harassed in the name of investigations into terror attacks.

Shabnam Hashmi of ANHAD said at a press meet on Monday that they had set up a tribunal to document cases of “atrocities committed on minorities” in the name of fighting terror. Its first meeting would be held in Hyderabad from August 22 to 24.

Citing the case of a former Infosys employee, Rashid Hussain, who was “illegally detained” for nine days by the Rajasthan police, she alleged that professionals from the minority community were being targeted in corporate houses.

Kavita Srivastava of the PUCL alleged that 14 people were picked up by the Rajasthan police after their Gujarat counterparts claimed to have solved the Ahmedabad blasts case.

Those detained included three doctors, she claimed.
