KOCHI: The All Kerala Private College Teachers’ Association (AKPCTA) will intensify its agitation demanding the withdrawal of suspension of a faculty member of the St. Albert’s College. The association organised a march to the college on Saturday, as part of the ongoing protests against the suspension of Prof. Sebastian K. Antony. E. P. Jayarajan, CPI(M) Central Committee member, inaugurated the protest. He urged the management to restore the academic atmosphere on the campus to ensure the development of the higher education sector in the State. Private college teachers from across the State participated in the march that began from High Court junction. K. Sasidharan, president of the association; P. Reghunath, general secretary; and Rajan Varughese, vice-president; led the protest. Representatives of AKPCTA alleged that Prof. Antony was suspended by the college management on flimsy grounds. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
