CNC stages protest

BANGALORE: Members of the Codava National Council (CNC) staged a protest in front of the Mahatma Gandhi Statue here on Monday urging the Government to declare Kodava land as Kodava autonomous region.

Activists, including women members, dressed in traditional Kodava dresses, held protest coinciding with the “World Indigenous People’s Day.” Council president N.U. Nachappa Codava said it was a long-pending demand of Council for creation of Kodava Autonomous Region on the lines of Darjeeling Gorkha land.
