Rathod is in-charge VC

Bangalore: H.T. Rathod, senior Dean, Department of Mathematics, on Monday assumed charge as in-charge Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University from H.A. Ranganath.

Prof. Ranganath was relieved on Monday and has assumed charge as Director of the National Accreditation and Assessment Council.

The post has been vacant for the past six months, since the term of V.S. Prasad, former director, ended in February.

Prof. Ranganath was short-listed for the post by the three-member search committee.

Governor and Chancellor of the Universities in Karnataka Rameshwar Thakur has accepted the resignation of Prof. H.A. Ranganath, the Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University who had tendered his resignation.

His tenure as VC, in the normal course, would have expired on May 28, 2010, a release added.
