Held for assault on scribes

Kozhikode: The Kasaba police arrested four persons in connection with the attack on a reporter and two cameramen, who were covering raids by the Department of Commercial Taxes on textile shops here on Monday. Those arrested are Abdul Wahab, 38, Abdu Rehiman, 48, Abdul Karim, 42, and P. Hashim, 38. All were charged under Section 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 ( rioting), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC, the police said. —Staff Reporter
