Vamshi picks up five wickets

HYDERABAD: A good spell by Vamshi (five for 20) helped Vijay Bharathi CC record a 105-run win over R.K. Puram in the A-Division (one-day) cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

AOC Centre defeated Bharat Singh Youth Club (Karmanghat) 50-20 in the first round of the GHMC annual Open kabaddi championship here.

Tejas wins title

Tejas won his maiden tournament abroad when he clinched the title in the JP Morgan Chase Aces tennis tournament in the U.S., according to information received here.

He was also part of the seven-member Indian team which visited University of Rhode Island for United States Scholar Athlete Games in July this year.

He is currently training in New York City.

MRITS wins trophy

Malla Reddy Institute of Science & Technology won the fifth Bandari Srinivas inter-engineering colleges cricket tournament in Chevella with a 10-run win over VJIT in the final here. Shiva Narayana, IPS, gave away the prizes.

The scores: MRIST 132 for seven (Vivek 37) bt VJIT 122 for nine (Teja four for 17).
