Monsoon session of Assembly from Aug. 25

HYDERABAD: Governor Narayan Datt Tiwari on Wednesday issued separate notifications convening the Legislative Assembly to meet from August 25 and the Council from the following day.

Being convened after the Budget session was prorogued in April end, the monsoon session of the Legislature will last for about ten days.

Irregularities

The short session is likely to witness heated debates on alleged irregularities in Indiramma housing scheme, ‘poor’ quality works in Jala Yagnam and land related problems amidst the “chalo Assembly’ calls given by frontal organisations of the Left parties outside.

The ruling Congress will highlight its achievements like extension of Arogya Sri across the State and supply of subsidised rice and other essentials. The Left parties plan to focus on land and housing related issues and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti is seeking to corner the ruling party on the issues facing the region.
