CHENNAI: R.M. Lakshman Narayan made an unbeaten 71 as Combined Districts XI drew its match against City XI on the third day of the Nanal Srinivasan Trophy under-22 fixture at Puducherry on Wednesday.

Earlier, Prashanth K. Varma’s five-wicket haul helped dismiss Combined Districts for 131 in its first innings, giving City a 117-run lead.

The scores: City XI 248 in 76.5 overs (R. Rohit 82, Ashwin Venkatraman 57, R. Kaushik Srinivas five for 57) and 245 for nine in 63 overs (R. Prashanth 48, Ashwin Venkatraman 49) drew with Combined Districts XI 131 in 41.1 overs (Prashanth K. Varma five for 18) and 236 for five in 54 overs (R.M. Lakshman Narayan 71 n.o., E. Ashwin 47, W. Antony Dass 49).
