THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even though Malayalam literature cannot be divided into a ‘swadeshi’ wing and a ‘non-resident’ wing, writers in Malayalam who live abroad should be given special respect considering their limitations, Education Minister M.A. Baby has said. He was speaking at a programme organised here to release a book written by non-resident Indian novelist Karoor Soman. Mr. Baby said this in response to a suggestion made at the programme that a special prize be instituted to encourage non-resident writers in Malayalam, a press note issued here said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
