The avenues ahead for MBA students

CHENNAI: “You are on the threshold of a revolution,” A.Satish Kumar, managing director of Henkel India Ltd., told MBA students participating in ‘Coliseum ’08’a national management meet at IBS Chennai on Thursday.

Inaugurating the two-day event, he spoke about India’s growth rate and the opportunities this offers for the management graduates, as well as the challenges.

The Roman themed event attracted 175 ‘gladiators’ from twenty MBA colleges, 11 of which from outside Chennai, to compete in 15 different events, including a virtual stock market, a WTO panel discussion and a game of ‘Brand Pictionary.’

“Participation in this event will give us an idea of our own level compared to other colleges,” Nikit Shah, a second year MBA student from IBS Mumbai said. Sirisha (27) of Great Lakes Institute of Management, said it is a good place to meet people, to network.

CEOs, managers and consultants from the industry participate as judges in the event. C.R.Muthukrishnan, Consulting Advisor, Tata Consultancy Services, and P.Ramnath Director, IBS Chennai, participated in the inaugural programme.
