‘Madras Week’ events today

CHENNAI: The following programmes will be organised on Friday as part of ‘Madras Week’ celebrations.

Release of special postal cover on Madras, Rajaji Hall, Anna Salai, 3 p.m.

Cuisines of the Madras Presidency – A Journey into the Past, Hotel Green Park, Vadapalani, from 10 a.m.

Stories on Madras for children aged between 6 and 12, Vanilla Children Place, 8/57, 1st Street, Luz Avenue, Mylapore, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Photowalk, Anna Nagar Tower Park, 5.30 p.m.

Spoken word - poetry reading sessions, Vanilla Children Place, 8/57, 1st Street, Luz Avenue, Mylapore, 8 p.m.

Lecture

The Parsis of Madras – power point presentation and talk by Zarin Mistry, Chamiers (Anokhee), Chamiers Road, 6.30 p.m.

Exhibitions

Exhibition of photos, books, paper clippings, coins, postal covers and stamps on Madras/Chennai and The Buckingham Canal, Yesterday and Today, Rajaji Hall, Anna Salai, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A Peep into Chennai that was Madras, Asan Memorial School, Anderson Road, from 10.30 a.m.
