Debris on road leads to motorcyclist’s death

HYDERABAD: Debris left in the middle of road after digging the divider to erect street light poles resulted in the death of a motorcyclist on Karkhana main road on Thursday.

Hemanth Kumar, 28, deputy manager of Axis bank’s credit card wing, was going to his office on a motorcycle when the accident occurred around 9 a.m. Near Food World, the rubble was strewn in the middle of the road. “Kumar turned his bike to avoid the debris and collided with another scooterist,” the Karkhana Inspector Taher Ali said. Both the vehicle riders fell down and an A.P.S.R.T.C. bus of Hakeempet depot ran over Kumar. Death was instant for him. Though he wore a helmet, it could not save his life and got crushed into pieces. The victim is a resident of A.S. Rao Nagar and survived by one-year-old daughter and wife.
