“ICFAI Society does not come under AICTE Act”

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) Society, Hyderabad, has submitted before the Madras High Court that it does not come under the purview of the AICTE Act. As it is not conferring any degree/diploma or certificate, but only assisting those who appear as private candidates of various universities, it will not come under the purview of the Act. So, it need not obtain the AICTE’s permission for conducting any programme.

The ICFAI Society’s activities did not warrant approval from the AICTE. Any venture to bring it under the purview of the AICTE Act and its regulations would be illegal, it said.

The ICFAI University, Uttarakhand, submitted that it was not conducting any course outside Uttarakhand; nor was it conducting any course in Tamil Nadu.
