BJP activists court arrest

Several BJP leaders and activists, including State secretary Bandaru Rangamohana Rao, were among the 33 arrested on Friday, in a ‘Jail Bharo’ protest in the wake of Amarnath yatra land row.

The protest at the Collector’s office was in response to the three-day national-level agitation called by the BJP. The party leaders sat in a dharna and tried to storm the Collectorate leading to the arrests. Among those arrested were the party State executive members T. Subbarami Reddy and T.S. Prakash Reddy, BMS State secretary Jagadish, RSS district secretary G. Subrahmanyam, BJYM State general secretary P.V.N. Madhav and BJP Mahila Morcha city president Challa Mahalakshmi.
