Assam Rifles posts win

NEW DELHI: Abel Sema scored a brace as Assam Rifles beat Osian’s New Delhi Heroes 3-2 in a pre-quarterfinal league match of the Durand Cup football tournament on Friday.

Sema struck in the 44th and 64th minutes, while Meikengai Kumai (68th) scored once for the winner, while Manish Khatri (57th) and Brazilian Iteue (85th) netted for the loser.

In an earlier match, Army XI thrashed ASC Centre (Bangalore) 4-1.
