JD (U) leader among two shot dead

Dhanbad (Jharkhand): Janata Dal (United) Dhanbad district committee vice-president Manoj Kumar Singh and one of his friends were shot dead by unidentified desperadoes at Bhumi Bank More here on Saturday.

The two were travelling in a car when they were shot at from close range by two youths on a motorcycle killing them on the spot, Dhanbad police superintendent Shital Oraon said.

The youths reportedly pumped in six bullets into Singh before they fled in their motorcycle. A manhunt was launched to track down the culprits, he added.— PTI
