Learning how to keep the heart healthy

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: A day-long “exhibition cum cardiology camp”, held at Jnana Jyoti Auditorium on Bangalore University campus on Saturday, saw a number of people trickling in to understand the working of the heart and ways to keep it healthy. They also came to get some basic medical tests done, free of cost.

Organised by the Cardiological Society of India (CSI), Bangalore Chapter, as part of its silver jubilee celebrations, the camp featured about 15 stalls set up by different medical institutions and pharmaceutical companies dealing with various aspects of cardio-care.

The idea propelling the CSI’s silver jubilee celebrations was to create awareness not just among the common people.

It was also to serve as an opportunity for doctors to get reacquainted with different aspects of heart care. Each of the stalls centred around issues on heart care and how their products or services could tackle them.
