AHMEDABAD: The four SIMI activists brought to the textile city from Indore jail for questioning in connection with the serial bomb blasts, have been granted 10-day police remand by the metropolitan court. They were produced before metropolitan magistrate J.K. Pandya on Sunday. The police claimed they were present both in the Kerala and the Pavagadh secret camps. All the four — Kamruddin Nagori, the brother of the SIMI top leader, Safdar Nagori, Ameel Pervez, considered to be among the top brass of the SIMI leadership and who had divulged the Ahmedabad blasts plot, Hafiz Hussain, the SIMI’s chief for the Karnataka operations, and Sivli Abdul Karim — pleaded non-guilty. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
