Team Bhandari triumphs

Coimbatore: Vivek Bhandari and his team, comprising amateurs P.R. Ramakrishnan, D. Lakshminarayanaswamy and Meiyappan Ramaswamy, tallied 56.60 points to emerge champion of the VTX-PGTI Pro-Am golfing championship at the Coimbatore Golf Club here on Sunday.

PGTI member Yusuf Ali and his team, consisting of K.S. Dhanan, Suresh Gokuldass and T.R.C. Muralidharan, with 57.20 points, wrested the second position.

Lakshminarayanaswamy was ‘closest to the pin’ on the seventh hole while K. Suryakumar was on the 14th.

The prize for the longest drive went to R. Gopinath, who came up with 330 yards on the 18th.

Padmanabhan won the contest for the straightest drive, on the 15th.
