J.D. Rao, in-charge of Regional Science Centre of Andhra Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (APCOST), has said that the centre is conducting classes for distance education courses on Remote Sensing, Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Mr. Rao said that the course was being offered by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun. The classes would be conducted using Edusat satellite at the centre. The aspirants could undergo training through video conference facility at the centre. Training would be conducted from August 26 to November 7, and the IIRS would give certificates to the successful candidates.
