Valanadu bank profit at Rs 7.79 lakh

TIRUCHI: The Valanadu Primary Agricultural Cooperative Bank has recorded a net profit of Rs. 7.79 lakh during the financial year 2006-07. Of this, a sum of Rs. 2.96 lakh was given as dividend to members, bank Special Officer S. Jothimani informed on Monday.

Presiding over the bank’s meeting held at Valanadu in the district, Mr. Jothimani said the bank had given loans of Rs. 5.36 crore during 2007-08.

Educational award

The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) distributed “SIO Educational Award 2008” to students who scored high marks in 10th and 12th standard examinations at a function held in the city.
