Sirsi: For the development of backward classes and minorities, the State Government will spend Rs. 150 crore this year, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri has said. Speaking at a function to mark the birth anniversary of Devaraj Urs here on Tuesday, he said Urs was instrumental in implementing the Land reforms Act. This helped in improving the economic status of backward classes to an extent. Residential schools and scholarships for students were launched by Urs, Mr. Kageri said. K.N.
