ABU DHABI: Indian Ambassador to the UAE Talmiz Ahmad called the termination of services of hundreds of nurses in the Emirates, including 160 Indian nurses unethical and insensitive. The sacked Indian nurses had approached the country’s embassy here, on Monday , following the decision taken by the new management of the local Mafraq Hospital. Mr. Ahmad said he would register his protest with the UAE government, according to Khaleej Times. “A number of nurses had been sacked from Al Mafraq Hospital. This had been done on the basis of certain written tests that were conducted earlier this year,” said the Indian Ambassador. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
