BANGALORE: Tension prevailed for a while on the Indian Institute of Science (IISc.) campus here on Tuesday after an unidentified caller informed one of the staff members of a bomb being placed in the IISc Health Centre. The police said that around 10 a.m., one of the staff at the health centre received the call, who was informed about an imminent bomb blast. The police said that the caller spoke in Kannada. Soon, the security personnel of the institute was alerted who, in turn, informed the Sadashivanagar police. The bomb disposal squad, which was summoned, searched the place and declared it as a hoax. The police are trying to ascertain the area from which the phone call was made. Sadashivanagar police have registered a case. MurderA neighbourhood dispute over water and garbage took a turn resulting in a murder of a 28-year-old man in Thimmaiah Road near Shivajinagar on Tuesday evening. Firoz (28) was allegedly attacked by his neighbour Lal Khan and his relatives. The two used to have frequent fights over clearing of garbage and over sharing of water. During one such fight, Lal Khan and his two relatives allegedly assaulted Firoz, who died on the spot. The Shivajinagar police are searching for Lal Khan and his two relatives. Fake jeans seizedSleuths of the Central Crime Branch raided a shop in Krishnareddy Layout in Marathahalli here, and seized Rs. 31 lakh worth of fake jeans.
