Traders hail announcement

MALAPPURAM: The Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samiti (KVVES), an organisation of traders, has welcomed the Finance Minister’s assurance that Sales Tax officials would not seek the help of the police to examine shops and that KVVES leaders would be informed before conducting Sales Tax raids on shops.

A meeting of the KVVES comprising 170 units of the trader body, however, warned that the traders would resist any violation of the assurance given by the Minister.
