Telangana Rashtra Samiti to back no confidence motion against Speaker

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has conceded that film star Chiranjeevi will be a force to reckon with in the State politics but avoided any reference to positive remarks about Telangana made by the latter at Tirupati on Tuesday.

There is no denying the fact that Chiranjeevi will be a force in State politics, Mr. Rao told a press conference here on Wednesday.

Stand on Telangana

He, however, refused to react to Chiranjeevi’s stand about Telangana as the latter was yet to take a final view on the issue. Moreover, the film star had made it abundantly clear that his observation was based on a macro level understanding and he would make an in-depth analysis of the issue after his party took full shape.

The TRS chief appreciated Chiranjeevi’s gesture on Telangana and said it was a good development.

Comment on NTPP

Asked to react to the Nava Telangana Praja Party led by T. Devender Gowd, Mr. Rao said, it was just another political party fighting for Telangana. Several such organisations had come up for separate Telangana in their own way.

Mr. Rao said there was no doubt that all Telangana supporters had to unite. As a party in the forefront of the struggle, the TRS would take the initiative to unite all these forces. “It is my moral duty to unite all the forces. We will not allow the pro-Telangana vote to split on account of multiple parties”, he said.

The TRS leader also said his party would support the no-confidence motion against Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy proposed by the Telugu Desam.

The TRS was aggrieved over dilution of the spirit of anti-defection law due to delay on Mr. Reddy’s part in taking action against nine rebel MLAs.
