HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Zone of APSRTC, in view of the recent bomb blasts at different places in the country, has initiated a new programme of distributing pamphlets to commuters on the safety measures to be followed during their course of journey. The pamphlets contain information about the officials to be contacted or the police in case the commuters notice any suspicious person or luggage in buses, bus stations or any other place. Through the pamphlets, the RTC requests the commuters to alert the bus conductor or the respective bus depot managers over phone (numbers displayed in the buses), if any passenger leaves any luggage or parcel or any unknown commodity, including petrol, diesel or any inflammable material in the bus. It also urges the commuters to inform the officials, if the bus is stopped at any unauthorised place. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
