KOCHI: Bowlers Anthraf and Vysakh stole the show as Thrissur pulled off a stunning 10-wicket over Palakkad in the Central Zone under-22 inter-district cricket championship in Kalamassery, on Thursday. After conceding a one-run first innings lead, Thrissur bowled out Palakkad for just 38 in the second innings and scored the winning runs without much fuss. In the other two-dayer which began on Thursday, captain Abhishek Hegde, Rajilal and Zanal Nazar were in fine nick as host Ernakulam made 329 for five in the allotted 70 overs at Ambalamugal’s BPCL Kochi Refinery ground. Idukki’s was very shaky at 74 for six at close. The scores: At St. Paul’s College, Kalamassery: Palakkad 150 & 38 in 15 overs (Anrthaf four for 16, Vysakh three for six) lost to Thrissur 149 & 42 for no loss in 3.1 overs. Points: Thrissur 3, Palakkad 0. Ernakulam 329 for five in 70 overs (Rajilal 71, Abhishek Hegde 77, Zanal Nazar 93, Rejil 53 n.o., Pius K.
