“Lands were grabbed by persons in power with the aid of high officials”

CHENNAI: A writ petition, in which the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister, K.P.P.Samy, has been cited as a respondent, has been filed by a resident of Vadanemillie village in Kancheepuram district seeking transfer of investigation of his complaint from the Mamallapuram police to CB CID.

In his petition, L. Dhandapani submitted that lands in his village were grabbed by persons in power with the aid of high officials.

In this connection, since S.Kumar was made to appear before the village sabha, he gave a false complaint against him and the villagers. They were all later granted anticipatory bail.

He alleged that he received a telephone call threatening him with dire consequences.

Following this, he filed a complaint with the Mamallapuram police and other authorities. But no FIR was registered. Only a community service register number was given.

Mr. Dhandapani also sought an interim direction to police to provide him and his family members adequate protection.
