Noddy and friends in a theatrical delight

NEW DELHI: To bring joy and excitement to the lives of children of a lesser god, non-government organisations India Vision Foundation and Salaam Baalak Trust are organising a special musical adventure show at Siri Fort Auditorium here this Saturday.

Titled “Noddy and the Treasure Map Adventure”, the 60-minute show features the famous cartoon character Noddy. The education-meets-entertainment show will have loads of interactivity for the little ones. Created way back in 1949 by the British children’s author Enid Blyton, the musical featuring the endearing little wooden boy Noddy will also be staged later in Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata.

The play will have various theatrical devices, world-class lights, sounds, special effects and stunts that will create a larger-than-life fantasy land for the children. It will have eight characters on stage including Noddy’s friends like Big Ears, Bumpy Dog, Sly, Gobbo and Tessie Bear. This theatrical delight is a unique show that combines moral values with fun for the entire family.

Started by former Indian Police Service officer and social activist Kiran Bedi, India Vision Foundation works towards reforming the lives of children of the Tihar Central Jail inmates.

Imprisoned with their mothers till the age of five, the children of Delhi’s dreaded jail deserve a better life, feels Ms. Bedi, winner of the Ramon Magsaysay Award. Under the NGO, the project called the “Crime Home Children” was started to provide education and rehabilitation of the children.

Salaam Baalak Trust runs five 24-hour full care shelters for children, one of them devoted to girl children.

These shelters provide the children security, a sense of home, and an opportunity to receive all the critical inputs of childhood.
