Gowtham scalps five

NAGERCOIL: G. Gowtham’s five-wicket haul helped Coimbatore dismiss Kanyakumari for 163 on the opening day of the TNCA under-22 inter-district cricket tournament, here on Friday.

The scores: Quarterfinals: At Nagercoil: Kanyakumari 163 in 54.3 overs (S. Raja 31, G. Gowtham five for 46) vs. Coimbatore eight for two in 5.4 overs.

At Tiruchi: Sivaganga 172 in 46.2 overs vs. Tiruchi 131 for two in 41 overs (V. Pradeep Krishna 52 n.o., Shanmugaraja 37 n.o.)
